| Abstract |
The exterior appearance of commercial buildings is one of the most important factors for attracting clients. So the commercial buildings represent commercial through the exterior renovation. But the study about the exterior renovation of commercial building is still insufficient. The purpose of this study is to clarify the importance and purpose of exterior renovation of commercial buildings in the central area of a city and to analyze data. In these days, Various renovation methods are used for the expression of commercial purpose in facade.
The results of this study can be summarized as follows;
1) There are the most marked five characteristics of the expression which are transparency, overlap, screen, simplification, non-materialization, and hybrid.
2) General tendency of exterior renovation is the expansion of openings which are intended to display products and indoor activities. |
