The purpose of this study is to effectively manage urban infrastructure information by Internet GIS. In the era of informationized society, through technology, vast amount of information is delivered quickly and promptly to the required source for effective management of urban infrastructure. In this environment, The eXtensible Markup Language (XML) is the universal format for structured documents and data on the Web, and elevate an Internet GIS for managing the urban facility on Web environment. In this study, without using commercial GIS engine, the server transforms legacy spatial data into XML data for clients to display them on standard web browers through 'plug-in play' method. Therefore, the client can query the attribute information of them, operate and manage the whole GIS system on the web. As a result, overcoming simply one time service offer, XML, the next generation internet language can provide standard of data exchange format and conferring logical semantic data model to data increase data compatibility of communication among different kind systems. |
