Abstract |
Productivity is an important factor for measuring a project performance and related to the profitability of companies carrying out projects. Thus, productivity improvement is necessary for the growth of companies as well as for enhancement of the industrial competitiveness. Although many methods on the productivity improvement have been introduced and examined, researches on productivity management through managing productivity information have been rarely conducted. This research suggests a productivity management system that utilizes productivity information. The major results of this research are as follows.; (1) In order to manage productivity in systematic and continuous manner, a productivity management model for engineering & construction project has been introduced. (2) The concept of productivity information has been established and productivity data that is required to generate productivity information has been drawn. (3) Through examining the characteristics of productivity information, the concept of data warehouse has been applied to productivity information management model. Conceptual multi-dimensional data modeling for this model has been conducted. (4) A conceptual model for the productivity management system has been proposed by integrating the two models, i.e., the productivity management model and the productivity information management model. Further researches on the implementation of the data warehouse and the computerization of the proposed system are required. |
