Abstract Housing Environment as a whole consistently interacts with human being and childhood emotional experience are influential on unconscious images about living environment and territoriality while impacting on the structure of self-identity and environmental attitude. This study was aimed to figure out what the respondents' emotional perception and value were about the living environment in their childhood in terms of environmental autobiography and to investigate the effects of the results on the personalization of the current living space. Factor analysis explained the concept of personalization three main factors; maintenance, decoration and self-expression of personal territory, and familiarity with personal space. Correlation analysis found that diverse childhood emotional expression was statistically significant on the degree of personalization of their living environment. Regression analysis indicated that the degree of decoration and pleasantness of their childhood living environment were the main variables, explaining the effects of emotional experience. Furthermore, the relationship between various emotional experience of each interior space and the personalization of current space were statistically significantly related. It is appeared that interesting setting of child-room, decoration of bath, and pleasantness in the parent-room were the most influential elements to the personalization.
