A Study on the Change Face of Teaching Accommodation responding to the 7th Educational Curriculum |
Abstract |
According to put into operation of the 7th educational curriculum, many schools today are required more specialized rooms and larger, more flexible spaces. They are also considered "open", allowing students to move freely in school facilities, and using flexible scheduling of classes and independent studies. This study aims to establish new architectural agenda of classroom usage for the existing school facilities responding to individualized interactive learning approach(IILA). First, it investigates the mechanism of new teaching methods and contents proposed in the national level curriculum and the province guidances. Secondly, it classifies the basic teaching area into three categories : comprehensive classroom, general + practical teaching room, multi -purposed classroom and departmental classroom type that would be used for operating new curriculum. Finally, it suggests that the comprehensive classroom and the general + practical teaching room type be applied to the elementary school curriculum. The middle school is a hybrid between the elementary and high school curriculum analysis and thus requires some multi-purposed classrooms besides ordinary classrooms. The high school curriculum is normally taught in distinct subject, using a variety of rooms and these room and spaces tend to be used primarily for one subject. However, the financial difficulties may force some departmental classrooms to be used by more than one subject. Hence this study proposes the revised departmental classroom operation methods that would be easily applied to the high school curriculum and our practical education environment. |
