| Abstract |
Housing is a most important issue in the consideration of social welfare for the elderly. There are constraints on the ability of aged persons to choose their housing arrangement factors include a lack of suitable accommodation in areas where it is needed and at price which the aged person can afford, levels of income, and the difficulties experienced by some aged people in performing ordinary household tasks because of frailty, or other medical, social conditions.
The Purpose of this paper is to suggest a model of urban style retirement housing for the elderly. The conclusions of this study are as follows:
1. Site selection for the facility should consider with medical facilities and easy transportation. 2, proper charge for using facility is 30～70million Won deposit and 150,000～300,000 Won monthly rental fee. 3, local governmental organization or non-profit private organization operate the facility and management method of the facility is rental method would be good for person who can not afford to buy. 4. volume of the facility is about 30 to 50 household for the economic reason by the case study of foreign countries. 5, residential unit are preferred by 25～31.5㎡ for single, and 36～56㎡ for double. |
