Abstract The purpose of this study is to set a classification tool for digitization of space. Firstly the existing research results and programs to digitalize the space information were analyzed. Secondary we considered the relationship between design process and space information for the propose of classifying the architectural space information. And than we verify the possibility of this classification using an apartment case.
As a result, 4 categories are classified; unit describing information, unit graphic information, relation describing information and relation graphic information. Suggested classification model will be useful to construct space information database system.
1) Unit describing information; unit information of space described by characters and numbers.
2) Unit graphic information; unit information of space graphically presented by 2D, 3D and dynamic view.
3) Relation describing information; relation information of space described by characters and numbers.
4) Relation graphic information; relation information of space graphically presented by 2D, 3D and dynamic view.
