Abstract |
The purpose of this paper is to review if the measure method of chloride included in concrete specified by ASTM is applicable to the standard specification of Korea and comprehend how much are the chloride content in hardened concrete by measuring the total(acid-soluble) chloride and the water-soluble chloride comprised in hardened concrete by means of ASTM specification. The results of this study are as follows. 1. Water-soluble chloride content tends to decrease with increase in curing age of concrete and no chloride is measured or less in the condition of the addition of 0.02~0.04% chloride over the dry condition weight of fine aggregate. However the chloride content in hardened concrete is measured almost as much as 73~68% the addition of chloride in case the addition of chloride in fresh concrete ranges 0.56 to 2.16㎏/㎥. 2. Judging from this measurement result of the total chloride content, because the condition in which the total chloride content in hardened concrete was discovered almost as much as 98.6~101.8% the addition of chloride the addition of chloride in fresh concrete exceeded 0.56㎏/㎥, the reliability of ASTM specification is high within this limit. Nonetheless, chloride of only 14.4~56.6% was measured in hardened concrete when chloride of 0.16~0.32㎏/㎥ was added in fresh concrete. So, the necessity of the proper test method through which the chloride content in hardened concrete was able to evaluate the doubt if the total chloride content in hardened concrete exceeded total regulation of Korean standard specification was perceived. |
