Abstract |
The purpose of the study is to investigate the relationship of seating behavior with spatial characteristics in fast-food restaurant. In this study, much emphases were given to finding out the relationships of space characteristics, especially seat location, the arrangement and the inner and outer environment of seat, with human behavior in fast-food restaurants. In addition to space characteristics, social characteristics of users such as gender, age, purpose of customers, the number and the relationship of accompanying persons were analyzed to examine their influences on the seating behaviors of customers in restaurant. Observation survey of 2964 users was conducted to obtain the data of user behavior in the study. The results of the study suggested there are significant relationships of seating behaviors with the space characteristics of seats in fast-food restaurant. It is also found that there are significant relationships of user variables with seating behaviors. |
