Abstract |
This paper presents an experimental study on the behavior of Circular and Square stub columns filled with high strength concrete (fck=500kgf/cm2) and polymer cement concrete(PCC) concentrically loaded in compression to failure. Twenty-four specimen were tested to investigate the effect of the steel shape(circular, square), wall thickness and infilled concrete on the axile strength of stub column. From the test results, the effect of inner concrete on the failure mode, the ultimate strength, initial stiffness and deformation capacity was discussed. As a result of this study, it was found that the circular section members filled with polymer cement concrete did not show decreasing behavior after reaching the ultimate strength. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the characteristics of CFT stub columns filled with two types of concrete and suggest the basic data for using the high strength concrete to the CFT structures. |
