Abstract From the previous study of steel fiber reinforced RC columns under normal strength concrete, the steel fiber could be enhanced the shear strength and ductility capacity. On the sequential study, shear characteristics of steel fiber in high strength concrete is investigated. Therefore, to define the shear strengthening effect of steel fiber in high strength concrete, 10 column specimens designed with a volume fraction of steel fiber and shear reinforcement ratio. The column specimens were tested under shear in double curvature and constant axial load. From the evaluation of steel fiber strengthening effects, the optimal steel fiber content(Vf) was evaluated as 1.0%~1.5% of concrete volume fraction by literature and structural member test results.
