Abstract |
Passing train may induce some annoyable or even intolerable vibration in a building if it passes by or through the building. It should be regulated such vibration to let under allowable level. Among the several attempts for the reduction of train-induced vibration, floating slab track system is regarded as most efficient alternation even though it requires much initial input. This system may offer most effective performance of vibration control and economize long-term maintenance/repair cost. The floating slab track system is commonly composed with rails, rail-pads, floating slab and slab-pad. This study focused on this system and analysed the vibration reduction performance according to each component. Consequently, this study cleared up the vibration reduction performance of each component, and presented effective design suggestion for the reduction of undesirable vibration from passing train. |
