Abstract This paper is an experimental study on the strength development of concrete at early age, bond strength between the form and concrete, and determination of removal time of the forms. According to the test results, it is impossible to measure the compressive strength at early age in case of W/C of 40% and 50%, and the compressive strength increases after 12 hours. It takes 21 hours and 24 hours to gain the compressive strength of 50kgf/cm2 in W/C of 40% and 50% respectively. In relation to determining the removal time of the form, it is after 30 hours when the compressive strength of 50kgf/cm2 is gained, the bond strength between the form and concrete is very low, and concrete do not scale off. Also, it is thought that if the side forms are removed after the rebound value of P type schmidt hammer exceeds 25, this is a effective method of determining the removal time of the side form.
