| Abstract |
The purpose of this study is to propose the architectural planning model for the joint venture & use of 26 elementary schools and community of Gangdong area, as an application study of the proposed school network model of Seoul city. The concept of school network is to organize schools regionally by grouping several schools as a network while providing a specific facility at each school in order to maximize the effectiveness of the network by sharing their buildings and resources together. This study proposed the school network plan and facility programming of Gangdong area based on the defined architectural planning process and criteria for the joint venture & use of schools and community.
As a conclusion of this study, it is positively suggested that the school network model can be practically applicable for Seoul city if it is only used as a means not as a goal. It is also essential to understand the key of planning each self-governing district with individual concerns by utilizing this study as a basic framework(architectural planning model) which could be modified along the given context of a district for the most effective joint of school and community. |
