Abstract |
The purpose of this study was to suggest some design implications in order to improve pedestrian road on the university campus. In order to find out existing problems on the pedestrian road, the campus of the K university in Daegu was selected as a case study, and the pedestrian moving quantity and pedestrian behavioral pattern on the campus were surveyed and analyzed, and then the problems of pedestrian road on the campus of the K university were derived. Some design implications in order to improve pedestrian road on the campus of the K university are proposed as follows ; 1) Sidewalk have to be enlarged the appropriate width applying to the service level of pedestrian. 2) In the case of the open space, main gates and cafeterias on the campus of the K university, a waiting area as well as sidewalk has to be enlarged to appropriate size. 3) Where pedestrians conflict with vehicles, a hump and crosswalk have to installed in place, and existing pavement pattern have to be changed to protect pedestrians. Consequently, it is desirable that pedestrian road on the campus are improved in consideration of convenience and safety of pedestrians according to the problems of each place on the campus. |
