Abstract The authors carried out a study on the application of Multipurpose Solar Energy System (hereafter referred to as MSES), which is equipped a solar liquid/air collector on the south wall of an building with thermal chamber for instance. In this study, new multipurpose solar energy using system was proposed for skin load in building. This MSES will be examined, analysed and presented as a solution for building environmental control system. As a result of these researches, the MSES can indeed perform better than reference system in various climates. In winter mode, we verified that MSES could provide profitable conditions for skin load control in building. Finally, MSES will not only lead to significant reduction air conditioning system capacity but also building energy conservation. To complete the MSES can be suitable for Korean climates, further study should be performed on the basis of these results.
