Abstract A lot of military facilities have deteriorated because of insufficient budget and poor management. Therefore the facilities have lower performance degree for their age. It is difficult to predict a remaining life for an aged facilities, and furthermore there are so many factors influencing on the service life of the facilities. We suggest a service life prediction model for the military facilities. The prediction model is based upon the performance of facility. The model is comprised of the initial degree of performance, the decreasing amount of performance proportioned to the elapsed time, the increasing amount of performance through remodeling, and the targeted service life of the facility. We assumed that the service life of the facility would be decided upon the allowable least performance, which is about 10% of the initial degree of performance. We conducted a case study on the real military facility that is currently used for residential units. The result shows that the model is valid to predict the remaining service life of the aged military facility.
