Abstract |
Recently, healing environment is proposed as a general concept in the hospital architecture. And the patients have become to select the intimate and comfortable environment of the hospital mentally as well as the satisfaction with the direct medical treatment. In the face of the development of the medical technology and the present focus of administrators who have showed much interests on reducing healthcare cost, the customer's needs of patients and visitors is often forgotten. The purpose of this study is to find out the design guideline for women's hospital focusing on the patient needs. This study is performed the literature review of the performance evaluation & spatial satisfaction, and trends of women's hospitals survey. And then, the spatial characteristics of selected women's hospitals, which were recently built in Korea, were analyzed. This study is suggested in the spatial satisfaction evaluation model in order to the spatial evaluation between performance elements of the patient needs and spatial environment. Finally, the model is used to for the planning & design for the future women's hospital. |
