| Abstract |
The purpose of this study was to analyze Resident Satisfaction in terms of 'spatial configuration' of outdoor space of apartment complex in Ilsan. This study newly defines 'spatial configuration' as the relative position of space which have similar functional characteristics. The information regarding resident satisfaction was gathered using questionnaire survey, and spatial configuration was investigated using space syntax and field survey. This research found that 'spatial configuration' is the most influential factor in resident satisfaction regarding outdoor space in apartment complex including the degree of satisfaction of physical environment and spatial composition(i.e., size or shape) and its degree of satisfaction. The result also shows that depth is another important variable which affects resident satisfaction positively. Findings suggest that 'spatial configuration' is an important factor which should be considered in planning and design of apartment complex. |
