Abstract |
The purpose of this study is to analyse the attitude toward three generation coresidence and housing form, with only unmarried young people. As of 2000, the number of Korea's 65-year or older people accounted for 7% of the population which has moved forward to aging society. It will increase to 14% of the population 22 years later, when aged society will begin. The result of this study showed that the 20s young people entirely intend to live independently, rather than living with old parents together. The most ideal family pattern after marriage was that a nuclear family accounted for 57% which was high. In particular, a preference for the nuclear family was higher in female than male young people. To the question about a person responsible for supporting old parents in the future, 56% answered that all of sons and daughters, rather than the eldest son, had to take the responsibility together. In order to better residential environment in preparation for sharply aging society, first of all, it is required to modify and improve general housing's interior facilities(Barrier-free) designed for aged people to live independently, taking into consideration their physical conditions, although it has been pointed out that more exclusive complexes for aged people have to be provided and prepared, such as public elderly care facilities and silver town. |
