Abstract |
This study aims to define the characteristics of cognition about Environment-Friendly Design Elements in schematic design phase, which has been raised recently by architects and planners. For this purpose, considerable 31 design items, that architects and planners can use in schematic design phase, were set up from the 'Green Building Certification', which is enforced in 2002. The analysis subjects were 22 master plans which entered for the 'New Millenium Commemorative Complex Competition' held by Korea National Housing Corporation. In the result of the analysis of introduced 31 items' characteristics, the deviation of applied design items was very wide; some items were applied in all master plans, and others not at all. And the average of the application rate is 41.50%(9.13times). The application frequency of site & architectural design elements are high because of visible effect or easiness in design, while that of energy, environmental pollution, water resources, materials, and indoor environment design elements are low was low. That is, architects and planners' cognition attitude of Environment-Friendly Design was lack of essential & systematic approach to environmental paradigm. |
