Abstract The purpose of this study is to discover the architectural form of Il-ju-mun. It deals with Il-ju-mun that has been built before 1910 in Gyeong-sang province. This study analyzes type of member, jointing method, frame structure method by dividing Il-ju-mun into four parts such as roof, bracket system, frame structure, podium. The results of this analysis are as follows.
)Roof: The Pal-jak type of roof and the Mat-bae type of roof are dominant and double eaves mainly appears.
)Frame structure: There are 4 forms in classifying frame structure depending on the jointing method of main-column, diagonal member, sub-column etc. and weight transmission method. The type made by mixing Ⅰ,Ⅱ,Ⅲ and Ⅳ is seen much more frequently than one made by using Ⅰ,Ⅱ,Ⅲ and Ⅳ separately.
)Bracket system: The arrangement of bracket system can be divided into one-line-arrangement and two-line-arrangement. As far as Chul-mok-su concerned, 3 or 4 Chul-mok-su is predominent. Tong-je-gong has been used to connect front and back bracket system for some Il-ju-mun. When it comes Je-gong, Yon-hwa-soe-seo type is mainly seen in the exteranl shape and Gyo-du type is mainly seen in the internal shape.
)Podium: Natural stone foundation is majority. It is judged that Il-ju-mun has no podium or natural ones, however, it has recently been converted into artificially processed podium in many cases. Il-ju-mun is located in the route of passing by, so it seems to be established without any podium or with one podium for people to walk easily.
