| Abstract |
This paper proposes a prediction model which addresses the commercialization of the residential area with GIS such as ArcView. It's significance lies in both employing the GIS in predicting the future condition of urban area and at the same time discussing the most distinctive changes - commercialization - in urban residential area. The process of this study is as follows; 1. An equation which explains the changes in urban residential area as well as the future tendency is established through statistical method and then is imported into GIS. 2. An GIS application which is created with Avenue(ArcView script language) applies the equation to the study area. 3. Accordingly, the application shows what kinds of changes - mainly in terms of commercialization of residential area - will happen to each residential unit under a certain circumstances. |
