Abstract |
The global environmental problem, emerging in the late 20th, has reached such a level which threatens the existence of human beings. UNFCC(United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change) has been signed by many countries at UN Conference on Environment and Development, which was held in Rio, Brazil, 1992 to limit and decrease the greenhouse gas. As environmental crises are prevailing, effective measures are being discussed to reduce the environmental load. Korea, which depends on foreign countries for most of its energy demand, recognize the importance of environmental issues. In Korea, one-third of its annual energy consumption happens in the construction part. Considering that environmental contaminants are emitted over the whole period of the Life-Cycle of office building from construction, maintenance to demolition, effective measures on office energy consumption are required in order to minimize the environmental load. This research studies the retrofit measures in building‘s maintenance stage, quantitatively estimates carbon dioxide emission, and suggests the basic data on retrofit measure in an effort to minimize the environmental load. |
