Abstract For construction project management, procurement is one of the core factors to enable project to achieve the goals in time and budget with designated quality. Recently the timely delivery and the appropriate management for construction materials are of great significance in that the buildings are getting complicated and more various materials need to be handled. Construction industry makes effort to restructure its work environment by keeping pace with the current technological progress and information technologies have induced several changes in people's behavior to implement their jobs. In this study the methodology to manage the construction materials efficiently was discussed. First, we extracted major functions in material management by analyzing the information and then redesigned the current work process with those major functions using information technologies. Through this method, a remarkable improvement was accomplished in work process by eliminating redundant works and combining similar works. In jobsite materials usually make an serious influence on the delays and cost overruns when they're not managed properly. So the results of this study are expected to contribute to enhancing the overall productivity in construction site based on the fully supported material management system.
