Abstract This paper is about the ways of the configurational concepts through the analysis of design process of Menara Mesiniaga by Ken Yeang. Though the materials of this analysis is the results got from the literatures such as drawings, photos, writings about interview etc., the method of this analysis is the process to get and evaluate the valuable contents about how the configuration concepts in designing are happen and developed. Though Ken Yeang was well known as an architect of bio-climatic architecture, he thought to generate the new configurational concepts using analogical factors in this building design process. The ellipse of Venus flytrap plants generated in third stage was transformed into the shape of sun-roof of the building though the shape was not appeared in before stages. The technological image of rocket generated in third stage was transformed into the concept of exposure structural frame, tripartite structure, aluminium panel etc. The concept of rocket was developed from the configurational concept of spiral up generated the abstract concept of the vertical planting in first stage. And sectional concept, climatic concept and usage material concept relating natural environment, etc. were utilized to organize the configurational features of the building.
