Abstract |
The concrete structures damaged by the alkali-silica reaction(ASR) has been not reported in the domestic yet. But the use of coarse aggregate has been rapidly increased with the exhaustion of natural aggregate in most recent, and several researchers have reported that a few coarse aggregate is possible to cause the ASR in the domestic. Also, with the increase of multistory building, high strength concrete has been used in a large number of concrete structure. However, because this high strength concrete include a large amount of alkali, it is possible to be damaged by the ASR. This study is to select the aggregate, which does not cause the ASR but is possible to cause it by the chemical method and the mortar-bar method, and to confirm whether this aggregates cause the harmful expansions in high-strength concrete. And this study is to investigate the influence of NaOH content on the ASR in high-strength concrete. The results of this study are follows ; 1. The expansion ratio of high-strength concrete varies according to a kind of aggregate and an addition ratio of NaOH. 2. When the unit cement content was 350~650kg/m3, the expansion ratio of high-strength concrete bar was under 0.03% at the age of 32weeks, and the harmful expansion by ASR did not occur. |
