Abstract This paper is intended to estimate the compressive strength of structure effectively by small size core that has merits such as easiness of non destructive test and exactness of coring test. According to the results, the compressive strength of core specimen decreases with decrease of diameter of the core. The compressive strength of core specimen decreases by 2% in Φ100mm core specimen, by 6.3% in Φ50mm core specimen and by 18.5% in Φ25mm core specimen, in comparison with that of standard specimen. And, the compressive strength of Φ50mm and Φ25mm core specimen decreases by 4% and 16% respectively, compared with Φ100mm core specimen, but the correlativity between standard and core specimen is very favorable. From this results, it is thought that the compressive strength will be estimated comparatively exactly if Φ50mm core specimen is applied with strength correcting coefficient considered.
