| Abstract |
The purpose of this study is to suggest the basic data for architectural planning guidelines of nursing home. The theoretical research about planning goals and principles was executed, and related regulations among Korea, Japan and USA were compared and analyzed. The results of this study could be summarized as follows; as planning goals and principles, safety and security, autonomy and control, opportunities for socialization, protection of privacy, small scale environment like home, support of family and community participation, and clusters of small activity spaces were proposed, and architectural guidelines for resident room, living space, dining space, toilet and bath room, and nurses' station were suggested as complementary items to existing elderly welfare regulation in Korea. |
