Abstract |
The architectural paintings of the Goguryo tomb murals is of substantial importance in studying the wooden architecture of Goguryo of the Three Kingdom period. As one of the study on the structure of the wooden architecture depicted in the mural tomb of Goguryo, this research attempts in analyzing the wooden sturcture in Ssangyoungchong, one of the tombs of Goguryo. As the chief results, it is convinced that Ssangyoungchong reflects the shape and the structure of the building which the owner of that tomb dwelled in live times and the building was composed of aisle and nave. In other words, the former room of the tomb was designed as the aisle, the main room was designed as the nave. Therefore, it can be said that the architectural paintings of the former room reflects the structure of aisle and the one of the main room reflects the structure of nave. Through the analyzing the architectural paintings of Ssangyoungchong, the structure that depicted in it is solved. These result maybe useful for the study on the wooden architecture of Goguryo through the mural tombs and the architectural paintings. |
