| Abstract |
This is a study of Korean village in Yen-Bien, China. The village was investigated by extensive field research and analyzed from the scale of the whole village to the arrangement of each and every housing unit. Organic and irregular pattern of street system and lot organization strongly characterize the village as a Korean village compared to Chinese villages which are divided in a pattern that is more geometrically arranged. Besides, the pattern of site layout of individual housing including directionality, approach way, location of storage buildings are analyzed. It can be noted that this village preserves the nature of traditional Korean villages in general, and reveals the process of change, according to the developmental stages of modernization. |
