Abstract This study applied the exploratory research method and interviews with specialists to figure out factors to determine a contract method for reconstruction projects. Based on factors derived from literature review and interviews, this research developed a decision support model to determine a reconstruction contract method. The decision support model consists of various items divided into 4 levels. The items at the level 2 consist of project and participants, which are the major aspects of determinant factors. Cost, project schedule, and quality are the factors evaluated for the project, and client and contractor are the factors evaluated for participator at the level 3. More detailed factors were developed in each factor at the level 3. Based on these factors, the decision support model also figures out the correlation and importance of the evaluation factors and transforms them to numeric numbers so that they can be sorted out by the degree of importance in the contract method. The correlation and importance of the contract methods are composed to create a model that can be used in decision making for the contract method at the early stage in reconstruction projects.
