| Abstract |
The ultimate goal of this research is to populate the practical use of XML based representation of architectural design information in AEC areas. STEP part 21 file format could not easily be distributed over the Internet using HTTP and could not be exchanged in network. XML's support for the Web can greatly facilitate the interchange of STEP conforming product information. In addition XML documents based structural information is widely understood and accepted. In this study, The authors have developed a converting system from STEP part 21 file format to XML file format. It is expected that the converted XML documents will support management, circulation and exchange of drawing information in AEC areas over the network. |
