| Abstract |
This study investigates Park, Kil-Ryong's “A study on the housing plan of the middle area of the Jo-Seon”, which forms early phase of his thought on housing improvement. But the importance of his study has not been noticed until now. For this reason this study aims to analyze his appreciation and suggestion for improvement of the housing plan of the middle area of Jo-Seon. The results of this study are the following;
1) His appreciation of traditional housing was on the functionalism and he focused on courtyard type plan.
2) But on this article, he presented three suggestions which are based on the traditional courtyard type plan. Those are unique examples considering the other housing plans of him are compact type.
3) Behind Park, Kil-Ryong's thought on the housing improvement, there is a evolutionistic way of thinking which explains housing improvement as an evolutional process, that is, the evolutionistic thinking represents all the way of life; eating, wearing and housing, rather than confines only to housing. |
