Abstract |
It has been over a decade since the World Commission on Environment and Development in the 1987 Brundtland Report brought attention to global issues of sustainable development. The construction and property sector has seen the development of a number of methods for evaluating environmental performance and building environmental assessment schemes for existing buildings and new designs. But these Environmental evaluation methods have decision making design adaptation limitations in the evaluation process such as: 1. The lack of economic consideration of buildings. 2. The absence of a weight system among buildings' environmental performance criteria. 3. The insufficient adaptation to a vernacular construction environment. This study is aware of the aforementioned issues and will take action in the following steps: ① Laying weights on the building's environmental performance criteria, ② A presentation of Cost-Effectiveness Analysis for the economic consideration of buildings, ③ Establishing integrated environmental performance evaluation methods of alternative design considering multi-criteria and choosing an alternative design. |
