Abstract The column-supported wall system is very disadvantageous from the viewpoint of structural safety because of a sudden change of rigidity and an excessive stress concentration at the transfer floor. But, a lot of public housings and residential commercial buildings have been adopted and constructed by architectural needs. To adopt reasonably the transfer girder structural system, we should understand the force distribution system at the transfer floor and stress concentration phenomenon at the ends, and arch actions of transfer girder system. Therefore, this study introduces the analysis models with the several variables to verify the stress distributions and truss actions of transfer girder system subject to vertical loads. Also, this study presents the practical application methods of transfer girder system through the given analysis results.
