Abstract The purpose of this study was to analyze the Administrative Tribunal cases which are related to Architects. When illegal activity of architect was exposed by government office, government decide the administrative punishment including business suspension ranging from 15 days to 12 months or cancellation of architect licence registration. As a conclusion of research most of cases are caused during design process and supervision of construction which are major roles of architects. Building code of Korea is very complicated and sometimes it cannot be measured by common sense. Therefore most of the architects who was punished by government disagree their punishments. And they would object to the decision and request for Administrative Tribunal. The rate of winning a lawsuit for these cases are below 50% and this is lower than that of common civil suits. There is not any research about Administrative Tribunal cases of Architects in Korea, so this kind of research is useful for architects and government.
