Abstract The purpose of this study is to find out the interrelation between upper risen architecture in the Korean Peninsula and 24 Stones Relics in Balhae’s period. This study compared 24 Stones Relics with other architecture pattern - historic relics(such as house shaped vessel with made clay and Goguryeo murals tombs) and building relics in the Korean Peninsula - through archeological research and field survey. Followings are the major results of this study. There were no similarities of 24 Stones Relics with the Korean Peninsula architecture pattern in footing method, shape and height and span of foot stone, and structure type. 24 Stones Relics are considered very peculiar architecture type. In future we have to recognize that Balhae has general arch- cultural characteristics in Northeast Asia as well as special arch-cultural ones as seen in 24 Stones Relics.
