Abstract |
The construction industry has some distinct features in procurement. For example, each project has a unique generic process, diverse subcontractors and disciplines and a temporary organization. These features impact as disadvantage on communicating among the participants. Though many researches such as contract management, partnering, subcontract systemization were carried out to reduce this disadvantage, those haven't been so effective in the traditional subcontract system. The current construction subcontract system is fragmented according to the work process. It is helpful to increase the efficiency of equipment and temporary work materials. It is also convenient to specialize construction skilsl. However, this traditional system has critical problem with achieving effective teamwork due to the lack of communication among subcontractors. Therefore, this study analyzes the cases of troubles among subcontractors caused by the production system based on work process, and it finally suggests new subcontract system formed by structural or spatial elements, whose subcontractors are responsible for several work items. |
