Abstract The purpose of this study is to evaluate the seismic performance of Welded Unreinforced Flange - Bolted web (WUF-B) connections used for Ordinary Moment Resisting Steel Frames (OMRSF). The details of the connections follow the FEMA 350 seismic design criteria. Based on the test results which is described in the part 1 of this study, this paper investigates the performance of the beam-column joint of WUF-B connections. The test results indicate that the performance of WUF-B connections is mainly influenced by the slip between the beam web and the shear tab. This slip caused the stress concentration in and around the access hole that was detrimental to the fracture at the end of the access hole cut, but strain demand in and around the weld was relatively low. The test results of this study were compared and discussed with former research results (Stojadinovic et al., 2000; Ricles et al., 2002). And Design recommendations for WUF-B connections are presented.
