Abstract |
The effect of column shortening is one of the major considerations in tall buildings, especially in concrete and composite structural system. The calculation method presented by PCA is most widely used for analyzing column shortening, but the results can be different according to the development of shrinkage with time suggested by ACI, CEB-FIP and PCA. Therefore, it is necessary to compare the calculated results with field measurement for more adequate shortening analysis and compensation. This paper represents analyzed and measured shortening results of RC cores and SRC columns at the 69 story Mok-Dong Hyperion apartment. It shows that the analysis results using the development of shrinkage with time of CEB and PCA are more accordant with measured values than that of ACI. |
