| Abstract |
This study deals with the aspects of symbolic representations found in the worship spaces in Korean church buildings since 1980. 29 church buildings were surveyed and analyzed with regard to the spatial and decorative elements which seemed to symbolize the place. Followings are the conclusions of the study.
Symbolic representation often found their way in the abstract and taciturn expression as seen in the graphic representation of the Cross. It was also found that the principles of design were effectively applied to the symbolization of the worshipping space.
