Abstract |
For practical purpose, geodesic dome is cut off at a suitable place in order to make it fit on horizon. If the dome is truncated along the great circle, it sits on the ground. But except this case it would not sit on the ground. So all nodes in the lowest boundaries are transferred to the ground. This pattern effects a change of??element lengths. The purpose of this study is to regularize the element lengths using a genetic algorithm. As the way of generating initial configuration, geodesic mathematics is introduced, then in carrying out genetic process we verify the method for the regularization. As a result of regularization, object configuration has more regular element lengths and is more economical than initial configuration. |
