Abstract The purpose of this study is to examine the basic properties of cement mortars using Tailing as an aggregate and an admixture. The CT(Tailing average size: 86㎛) and FT(Tailing average size: 19 ㎛) are obtained by centrifugal separation of tailing, and checked for basic properties such as shape, particle size distribution, pH, chemical compositions, etc. There were strength enhancement effects in extent within CT substitution content of 30% for fine aggregates, and was shown strength similar to the mortar of CT substitution content of??0% in extent within CT substitution content of 70%, because of charging some of CT being small than the silica sand used as fine aggregate in the mortar. Experiment result that substitute tailing FT with admixture(filler) was shown??more than 40MPa of strength reveal within mixing rate 20%, and measured low about 10㎏/ ㎠ degree on strength of mixing rate 5% compares with mixing rate 0%. This strength character is considered by FT is not concerned in hydration and acts role of gap filling in mortar. Here by, a tailing is considered that use as construction material according to granularity condition, especially fine aggregate and admixture fare.
