Abstract The purpose of this study is to develop the application method of structural welded wire fabric(WWF) for practical use in domestic construction industry. One of the main reasons causing problems in adopting WWF for building construction is the variety of WWF types, which decrease productivity of the factory and the construction field. In this study we made typical types of WWF for slab and wall each, which were adapted in the pilot project. For analysing the pilot project application results, the daily work sheet was used. The man-power for reinforcing work was recorded using it. For making comparison between the productivity of using typical reinforcing bar and that of WWF, one floor slab and wall were reinforced by steel bar. Using the records of the work sheet, the productivity of steel bar and that of WWF were calculated. The labor saving effect of using WWF was 21.2% in slab reinforcing work and 15.0% in wall reinforcing work. In this pilot project, WWF was adopted 29.3% for slab and 38.3% for wall. Provided the cost of typical steel bar reinforcing work is 100%, the calculated labor cost of WWF is 28.4% for slab reinforcing work and 60.8% for wall.
