Abstract Current reformation of architectural education curriculum in Korea is widely based on that of the United Sates’. But in the United Sates, the result of curricular demand study has updated the content of the current NAAB’s accreditation criteria. It calls for an urgent need of conducting comparable study finding demands in practice for Korea, to better assess the validity of wide adaptation of the accreditation criteria from the U. S. as a reformation standard of architectural education in Korea. For this study, a survey asking demands in practice was answered by 72 registered architects in Seoul area. The result showed generally similar demands compared to that of the U. S.’ But demands in Korea also revealed noticeable difference by showing vast demand for architectural design ability, and demand for better knowledge and ability in the major architectural subjects. This study theorizes the proper adaptation of the criteria from the U. S. in Korea and suggests directions of necessary future studies.
