| Abstract |
The purpose of this study was to investigate toilet sings in the long-term care units in Pusan area, and to find out the users' preferences of the toilet signs. Observation, interview, and photo were used for the study methods. The results of the study were the lack of color contrast between letters and background color, the reflection of sign materials, dazzling from the toilet sign, the lack of general letter use, and unsuitable sign position to old people were shown. The investigation of the toilet sign preference revealed that the most favorite toilet signs were an international toilet sign and a three dimensional toilet shape which should be considered in the design of toilet sign in the long term care units. Finally, the development of additional sample areas, units, and toilet signs is necessary to get more representative data. |
