This study aims to analyze the characteristics of space composition(floor area scales and floor plan types) of 20 Life Support Houses(Residential Part) for the elderly in depopulated Regions of Oita Prefecture, Japan. Average floor area of Residential Part is 482.18㎡, of that, residence and non-residence space take up half of each Residential Part. Average number of residential unit??per Residential Part is 10.95 households(12.35 people), average floor area is 19.90㎡ for a single-room, and 37.89㎡ for a double-room. Site plan types of Residential Part can be categorized into Side Corridor, Central Corridor, Cloister, Circle(Half-Circle) and Cluster. Beside the residential units, other important rooms are Meeting Room and Advisor Room. Meeting Room is either in an open-area (Open Type) or has its own room behind the closed door(Independent Type) based on the access to the room from the corridor. Advisor Room is divided into One Room Type and Residential Unit Type depending on the number and function of the room. Floor plan types of residential units can be categorized into Column, Parallel, Inclusive and Hybrid depending on the placement style of Front Room and Habitable Room. |
