Abstract For estimating the project cost that is suitable to the progress of construction techniques and various construction methods, many cost models have been presented, but recognized as many problems. Therefore, this study is focused on the development of a new cost model based on the standard database extracted from the actual construction information of apartment housing projects. The cost model proposed in this paper evaluates the construction cost by standard design type DB, cost breakdown DB and actual construction DB. To verify the validity of the model, it compares the price estimated by the standard databases with the one by the estimation for bid. As a result of the case study, the model showed about 2% error in valid and was proved that stimators could understand the cost modeling process easily. And it is confirmed that the model is reliable for the minimization of cost risk and useful for estimators.
