Abstract |
The purpose of this study was to propose a generative three-dimensional digital modeling method using a legacy CAD system for the practice of architectural design and education of spacial perception. A digital tool for design experiment was built as a prototype to produce and allocate design elements efficiently in a cubic framework of Euclidean linear geometry. Through this method, user can construct a three-dimensional shape, which is composed of various design elements and grid, using directional vector and spacial position values as functional variables. Previous research on three-dimensional modeling method with generative modeling issue and design education tool was studied to find an adequate digital modelling process. A prototype system is presented in order to demonstrate the key elements in the proposed method. Findings and issues are discussed to give directions in developing an expanded digital modeling method. |
